BEAVER DAM, Ky. — David Allen Smith, 70, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, surrounded by his loving family under the care of University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. He was born on April 18, 1953, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Fred and Virginia Smith.
David retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a UMWA member.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two children, Shannon Olivia (Joshua) Ross, of Beaver Dam, and Timothy David Smith, of Olaton, Kentucky; his partner, Nancy Garner Smithm of Beaver Dam; and two brothers, Donald (Barbara) Smith, of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Dwayne (Sue) Smith, of Cromwell, Kentucky. David was blessed with four grandchildren, Skyla Grace Ross, Abram Wyatt Ross, Ava Lynn Smith, and Athena Marie Ford.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Baptist Church Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may visit with David’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral on Monday.
