HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Jonathan Earl “John” Henderson, 58, of Horse Branch, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. John was born on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1964, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the union of late O. C. and Hazel Garner Henderson.

John was a member and faithful Christian that attended East Fairview General Baptist Church and was a member of the Carpenters Union. He enjoyed mowing, working, fishing, and playing cards. John loved vacationing, eating out with his family, and Louisville basketball.

He fought hard against Parkinson’s and Dementia with Lewy Bodies Disease for many years. He was greeted in heaven by his loving parents O. C. and Hazel Henderson; one brother, Mickey Henderson; one sister, Rebecca Mudd; two brothers-in-law, Danny Gibson and Terry Ray; father-in-law, Gerald Findley; and special mamaw, Artie Mae Burden.

Jonathan Earl “John” Henderson is survived by his wife of 33 years, Stacy Henderson, of Horse Branch; one son, Timothy Henderson and wife, Leah, of Caneyville, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Keegan Rose, Madaline Tucker, Elijah Henderson, and Evie Lea Henderson, all of Caneyville; one brother, Bobby Henderson, of Morgantown, Kentucky; three sisters, Sonya Henderson, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Tonya Ray, of Central City, Kentucky, and Belinda Gibson, of Caneyville; one brother-in-law, Jeremy Findley, of Morgantown; mother-in-law, Nadeen Findley, of Morgantown; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and special friends; and a very special dog, Rooster Doodle-Doo Henderson.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Friday, July 7, with Bro. Jr. Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Neafus Cemetery where Daniel Coots, Dustin Coots, Kevin Lindsey, Bronson Alford, Joe Alford, Cole Ashby, and Jeremy Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 7, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
