MORGANTOWN, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police is looking for anyone who might have witnessed or has information about a fatal collision in Butler County Tuesday.
According to KSP Post 3, just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 16, the KSP was asked by the Butler County Sheriff’s Office to investigate a fatal car wreck in Butler County. The wreck occurred on I-165 near the 31-mile marker.
The KSP’s preliminary investigation showed that Jacob A. Whitefield, 22, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2012 Nissan Maxima northbound on I-165 near the 31-mile marker. Whitefield’s vehicle drove off the left side of the road and crossed the grass median. Whitefield’s car continued into the southbound lane striking a 2018 Ford Escape driven by Lauren G. Marr, 27, of Bowling Green.
Marr was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Butler County Coroner’s Office. Whitefield was flown from the scene by Air Evac to Skyline Hospital in Nashville.
The investigation is being led by Trooper Bo Hubbard. He was assisted at the scene by Butler County EMS, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County Coroner, Air Evac, and KSP personnel.
