CROMWELL, Ky. — Charles E. Wendle, 83, of Cromwell, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Wayne County, Illinois, on Aug. 11, 1939, to the late Clarence and Olive Garris Wendle.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the American Legion, and the Eagles Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, camping, whittling, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Blaine Wendle; and brother, Vernon Lee.
Charles is survived by his children Vivian Brown of Illinois, Lilian Wendle, of Kentucky, Cleburne Wendle, of Kentucky, and Nora Williams (Michael), of Illinois; and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Morgantown, Kentucky.
