**UPDATE** KSP arrests McLean County murder suspect

**UPDATE** HENDERSON, Ky. (2/15/23) — William C. Arant was captured Tuesday night in Owensboro. He was been taken to Daviess County Detention Center, according to Corey King, Kentucky State Police Post 16’s Public Affairs Officer.

Arant has been charged with murder and burglary.

The KSP thanked law enforcement agencies and those who provided information that led to Arant’s arrest.

HENDERSON, Ky. — Kentucky State Police troopers are actively looking for an Island man in connection to the death of a McLean County man.

Troopers are searching for William C. Arant, 18. of Island, on murder and burglary charges. Arant is also known as “Conor” or “Willie”. A warrant has been issued and Arant is considered armed and dangerous. He was last believed to be in the Owensboro area.

Thursday, Feb. 9, troopers responded to the residence of Steven G. Powell, of Calhoun. When troopers arrived they discovered Powell with an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. Powell was transported by McLean County EMS to Owensboro Health where he later died.
