CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Michael Wayne Cockriel, 70, of Centertown, passed away Jan. 15, 2023, at his residence. He was born on Dec. 21, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Paul Thomas Cockriel Sr.

Michael was a plumber by trade and enjoyed working on and building classic cars.

Aside from his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Sue Parritt Cockriel, in 2010; a brother, Casey Cockriel; a sister, Paula Cockriel; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Glen Parritt, and James Arnold Parritt.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, three sons, Roy Cockriel, of Broadview, Illinois, Michael Cockriel, of Pontiac, Michigan, and Paul Cockriel, of Michigan City, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Gaynell (Barry) Ball, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Peggy (Tony) Vincent, of Beaver Dam; and one brother-in-law, Kenny Parritt, of Centertown. Michael was blessed with four grandchildren, Crystal Duncan Cockriel, Roy Duncan Cockriel, Paul Cockriel Jr., and Jaslyn Cockriel, all of Centertown, and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
