OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, the Green River District Health Department reported that in the previous week it had investigated 318 new COVID-19 infections; 150 in Daviess County, six in Hancock County, 63 in Henderson County, 18 in McLean County, 22 in Ohio County, 41 in Union County, and 18 in Webster County.
There were six COVID-19-related deaths reported in the previous week. The COVID-19-related deaths were six residents of Daviess County.
The average number of new cases in the district for that period was 45.4 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between Dec. 5-11, 2022.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.
The COVID-19 Community Level is currently classified as medium for Daviess, McLean, and Ohio Counties, and low for Henderson, McLean, Union, and Webster Counties.
In addition to confirmed COVID-19 cases, flu and other respiratory illnesses remain widespread in all areas.
GRDHD encourages all its residents to:
- Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Get vaccinated for the flu.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Get tested if you have symptoms.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer if you do not have access to soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Talk to your doctor about wearing a mask if you are at high risk for severe illness.
- People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness.
