OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, the Green River District Health Department reported that in the previous week it had investigated 201 new COVID-19 infections; 85 in Daviess County, 15 in Hancock County, 41 in Henderson County, five in McLean County, 18 in Ohio County, 27 in Union County and 10 in Webster County.
There were six COVID-19 deaths reported the previous week. The reported deaths were two residents of Daviess County, one resident of Hancock County and three residents of Ohio County.
With the death of three Ohio Countians last week, a total of 118 Ohio Countians have died due to COVID-19-related complications. Since the week of Aug. 22-28, 13 Ohio Countians have died from COVID-19-related complications.
The average number of new cases in the district for that period was 28.7 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between Nov. 14-20, 2022.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.
The COVID-19 Community Level is currently classified as low for all seven counties in Green River District – Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, Union, and Webster.
Flu and other respiratory illnesses are widespread in all areas. We are also seeing an increase of COVID-19 now.
GRDHD encourages all its residents to:
- Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. Get vaccinated for flu.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Get tested if you have symptoms.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; use hand sanitizer if you do not have access to soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- You may choose to wear a mask at any time, especially when in indoor settings.
- People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask. Additional precautions may be needed for people at high risk for severe illness.
