BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Farmer Grigsby, 97, passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at his home at Dogwood Estates. He was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Hazard, Kentucky, son of the late Joseph and Armine Crofford Grigsby.

Mr. Grigsby was a veteran of WWII and served his country in the U.S. Army, he also was a member of the UMWA Local 8491 and worked at Ken Underground and Ken Surface Mine.

Besides his parents, Farmer was also preceded in death by his wife Maude Grigsby and son John Anderson Grigsby.

Survivors include his sons, Ross Lee Grigsby(Joyce) and Farmer Grigsby Jr.; daughters, Hattie Miller(Larry) and Alice Flynn(Tommy); four grandchildren, Christen Jachimowicz, Crystal Grigsby, Paul Miller, and Allison Miller; and six great-grandchildren, Celeste Jachimowicz, Sadie Wilson, Matthew Miller, Macy Miller, Maya Miller, and Madeline Miller.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. David Embry officiating. Burial will be in Knott County, Kentucky, on Tuesday at Gayheart Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
