HARTFORD, Ky. — James L. Barnes, 97, of Hartford, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2022, at Ohio County Healthcare. He was born Oct. 8, 1925, in McHenry, Kentucky, to the late Henry S. Barnes and Odessa Shepard Barnes.
Mr. Barnes was a retired brick mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Barnes; companion, Milford Little; and brothers, Leon Barnes, Gilbert Barnes, and Elmer Barnes.
Survivors include five sons, Barry Barnes, of Rockport, Kentuck, Roger Barnes, of Greenville, Kentucky, Leroy Barnes, of Rockport, Conard Barnes, of Rockport, and Tim Barnes, of Owensboro, Kentucky; sister, Lucille Daniels, of Louisville, Kentucky; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 12 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at Salty Creek Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky was entrusted with arrangements.
