TELL CITY, Ind. — Virginia Rae Brown, 80, of Tell City, Indiana, formerly of Cromwell, Kentucky, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born June 4, 1942, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Monroe Casey and Gerturde Embry Casey.

Mrs. Brown was a retired caregiver that never met a stranger.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan Haven; daughter, Toneta Bratcher; granddaughter, Angelica Bratcher; stepson, Brian Brown; and eight siblings.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Charles L. Brown, of Tell City; loving children, Harlan R. (Delilah) Haven, of Morgantown, Kentucky, Tonya Haven (Michael) Jones, of Cromwell, Kentucky, Roy (Karen) Haven, of Lakewells, Florida; stepson, Alan (Jennifer) Brown, of Tell City; 16 grandchildren, Jonathan (Suzanne) Wallace, Jacob Haven, James (Mandy) Ashby, Billy Bratcher, Brandon Martin, Amber (Marshall) Dorsey, Amanda Strauss, Jeremy (Mary) Jones, Korbin Brown, Maggie Brown, Devin Brown, Blake Brown, Cody Brown, Chris Wallace, and Harlena Gallagher, Desirae (Eric) Martin; numerous great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Jean Spears, Beverly (Russell) Fulkerson, and Diana (Jerry) South.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky has been entrusted with arrangements.
