MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Betty Jean Russ, 75, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Monday, Oct. 7, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Everett Patterson and May Couch Embry and wife of the late Edward L. Russ.

Betty was a retired nurse, working at Lakeview Nursing Home in Morgantown for 33 years and she attended Trinity Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one daughter, Vonda Gale Russ, and four brothers, Walter Embry, Dale Patterson, Andy, and Burchel Arnett.

Betty Jean Russ is survived by one daughter, Sherry Williams (Garnett), of Morgantown; two sons, Eddie and Everett Russ, both of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Elisha Williams (Misty Daugherty), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Derrick Williams (Sarah), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, and Cody Russ (Brittany), of Morgantown; four great-grandchildren, Chase Tichenor, of Beaver Dam, Ryder Williams, of Beaver Dam, Zaeleigh and Bryleigh Russ, both of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Daisy Embry, of Morgantown; special sister, Mardella Rafferty, of Indianapolis, Indiana; special niece, Sandra Rife, of Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Cody Russ and Bro.Wayne Russ officiating. Burial will be held in the Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 2 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
