BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Tommy Maggard, 69, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 3, 1953, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Charlie Maggard and Dorothy Baker Maggard.

Tommy retired from Peabody Coal Company and was a member of UMWA Local and Slaty Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and wrestling.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his son at heart, John Michael Kellems; grandson at heart, Harley Kellems; brother, Jimmy Maggard; and sister, Barbara Crouch.

Tommy leaves behind to treasure many memories, his wife of 10 years, Tammy Maggard, of Beaver Dam; son at heart, Kenneth Wayne Kellems, of Odessa, Texas; three stepchildren, Brent (Carissa) Wortham, of Beaver Dam, Tiffany McCreary, of Beaver Dam, Tina (Brandon) Fulkerson, of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren, Chamler, Brayden, Parker, Collin, Kynlee and Avalee; five siblings, Johnny Maggard, of Beaver Dam, Lonnie Maggard, of Beaver Dam, Stephanie Sanford, of Beaver Dam, Carol Fille, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Joyce Branning, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and several nieces and nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will follow in Maggard Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Tommy’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
