AUBURN, Ky. — Deana “Aunt Dee” Allen, 75, of Auburn, passed away Monday, Sept. 12, 2022, at her home with her family by her side. She was born April 9, 1947, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Hilbert Allen and Belle Sorrels Allen.
Dee was a homemaker and member of Hickory Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved to crochet, having fun with the ladies and her family. She was Aunt Dee to everyone she met.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Poor, and three brothers, Waverland Allen, Charles Allen, and Lue Allen.
Dee leaves behind to treasure her memory, three children at heart, Deborah Sue (Jon) Whittinghill, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Anita “Sissy” (Roberto) Amador, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Douglas “Butchie” (Cathy) McMurray, of Auburn; twin sister, Duma Culbertson, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; brother, Lenny (Elizabeth) Allen, of Cromwell, Kentucky; nine nieces and nephews, and several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Cemetery. Friends may visit with Dee’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
