OWENSBORO, Ky. — Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022, the Green River District Health Department reported that in the previous week it had investigated 886 new COVID-19 infections; 386 in Daviess County, 28 in Hancock County, 231 in Henderson County, 28 in McLean County, 93 in Ohio County, 75 in Union County and 45 in Webster County.
There was one COVID-19 death reported the previous week. The reported death was one resident of Daviess County.
The average number of new cases in the district for that period was 127 new cases a day. The newly reported cases were investigated between July 25-31, 2022.

Levels can be low, medium, or high and are determined by looking at hospital beds being used, hospital admissions, and the total number of new COVID-19 cases in an area.
The COVID-19 Community Level is currently classified as high for all seven Green River District counties. Green River District includes Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union and Webster Counties.
GRDHD encourages all its residents to:
- Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.
- Wear a well-fitting mask in indoor public settings.
- If you are immunocompromised or high risk for severe disease, talk to your healthcare provider about whether you need or take other precautions. Those at high risk should consider avoiding non-essential indoor public activities.
- Follow CDC recommendations for isolation and quarantine, including getting tested if you are exposed to COVID-19 or have symptoms of COVID-19.
- People may choose to mask at any time. People with symptoms, a positive test, or exposure to someone with COVID-19 should wear a mask.
