LEXINGTON, Ky. — Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Lexington, Reverend Michael E. Hendricks entered into the presence of the Lord. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on Nov. 4, 1948, to Thelma Louise Higgs and Rudolph Hendricks.
He was a graduate of Seneca High School in Louisville KY, Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music in Michigan, received his B.A. from Bryan College in Dayton, Tennessee, and a Masters of Ministry at Faith Seminary. He was a retired minister of 38 Years. He was also a combat veteran and a Sergeant for the US Army in the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed genealogy, watching Kentucky basketball, fishing, coin collecting and reading about history. In his last years of retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his dog, Daisy, with treats.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 50 ½ years, Beverly (Bell) Hendricks; his brother, Eddie (Charlotte) Hendricks; and his half-brothers, David Hendricks and Jeffrey Scott Hess
He is survived by his son, Dr. M. Todd (Sheila) Hendricks, of Decatur, Georgia; his daughter, Sarah J. Newton; his son, Nathan G. Hendricks, both of Lexington; two grandchildren, Charlie and Daniel Newton; his brother, Jerry (Vicky) Hendricks; his sister, Debbie (Mike) Siler; two half-sisters, Rebecca (Gary) Sims and Susan Hart; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private service to celebrate Michael’s life.
