BELLVILLE, Ill. — Jimmie “Jim” Vaughn Maddox, 71, of Belleville, born Feb. 11, 1951, in Rockport, Kentucky, died Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at his residence, with his family by his side.

Jim held a bachelor’s degree and worked as a certified public accountant. He loved the outdoors and camping. Jim was a member of Christ Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis G. and Geneva M., nee Addington, Maddox; and a nephew, Timothy Fulkerson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn R. nee Bauer, Maddox, whom he married on Aug. 3, 1973; a daughter, Alison M. (Ron) Jester, of Freeburg, Illinois; a son, Steven J. (Stephanie) Maddox, of Belleville; seven grandchildren, Jacob, Ryan, Taylor and Megan Jester, and Leah, Colin, and Kendall Maddox; two sisters, Geneva (Lonnie) Fulkerson, of Willisville, Illinois, and Sherry (Feb) Taylor, of Owensboro, Kentucky; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Friends may visit from 4p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, June 19, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, at Christ Church, 339 Frank Scott Parkway E., Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 20, at Christ Church, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois.
