HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Rebecca P. Morris, 70, of Horse Branch, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born in Rosine, Kentucky, on Aug. 12, 1951, to the late Lee Phelps and Helen Lorene Daugherty.

She spent her life making a loving and spiritual home for her family as well as the many church events she orchestrated. She loved music, dancing, painting/woodworking, and laughter.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Geary; niece, Kimberly Bates Mattingly; father-in-law, John C. Morris; and brother-in-law, Louis Murphy.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Rev. John David Morris; two sons, Johnny Morris (Crystal Scarberry) and Ben (Olivia) Morris, all of Horse Branch; nine grandchildren, Joyce Payton, Jessie (Ethan) Hoover, Cortney (Andrew) Perez, Jonathan Tyson Jr., Karlie Cline (Brock Hess), K.C. Cline, Brandon (Stephanie) Geary, Amy Renfrow, and Olivia Renfrow; several great-grandchildren; six siblings, Jay (Lily) Phelps, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Audrey (Tom) Wilson, of Beaver Dam, Lida Murphy, of Horse Branch, Lori (Danny) Parks, of Caneyville, Kentucky, Jimmy Phelps, of Horse Branch, and Billy (Amanda) Phelps; and several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Nathan Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Old Salem Cemetery in Horse Branch, Kentucky. Friends may visit Becky’s family from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
