BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Major G. Deweese, 92, of Beaver Dam, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at his home. He was born Jan. 29, 1929, in Horse-Mill, Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Jerome Deweese and Roxie Mae Willis Deweese.

Mr. Deweese was a retired farmer and a member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Maudie Pauline Lindsey Deweese; two brothers, Henry Cisero Deweese and Opal Deweese; three sisters, Lydia Dee Stayton, Mae Champney, and Lorene Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Helen Fay Deweese; and several half brothers and sisters.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, twin sons, Shelby Deweese and Elbie (Glenda) Deweese, both of Beaver Dam; twin daughters, Jeanetta (Larry) Brown, of Beaver Dam, and Yetta (Dennis) Meador, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Major (Becky) Deweese, Chris (Samantha) Brown, Matthew (Tiffany) Deweese, and Randy Brown; five great-grandchildren; Angelia (Josh) Abner, Jonah (Jennifer) Deweese, Sarai (Tanner) Bray, Levi Deweese, and Abby Deweese; two great-great-grandchildren, Raylynn and Rylee Abner; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Gary Hines officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery in Butler County. Friends may visit with Mr. Deweese’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
