Warren RECC experiences widespread outages from overnight storms

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A rare winter storm that rolled through the Warren RECC territory overnight caused widespread power outages. Strong lightning and wind caused numerous broken poles and downed power lines throughout the Warren RECC territory. As of 8 a.m. CST, there are 22,000 members without power.

Crews worked through the night to assess damage and will continue to work until all outages are restored. In addition, crews from electric cooperatives in Alabama and Georgia and local contract crews will aid in restoration.

WRECC will continue to provide updates as information becomes available. Remember to stay away from downed power lines. If you see a downed power line, report it to one of WRECC’s outage lines: In Warren County call 270-843-9710. Outside Warren County, call 1-888-604-4321.
