OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community and Technical College will host a pre-hire event for the new CDL program at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, in Room 5 of OCTC’s Downtown Campus at 1501 Frederica Street. The event is open to any employer interested in sponsoring a student or students for CDL certification training.
The Oct. 13 CDL Pre-Hire Event will provide employers an opportunity to meet prospective students interested in a CDL career. Employers can participate in mini-interview sessions with the students to determine the right fit for their company. OCTC’s first cohort of students for its new CDL Driving Academy will begin classes Nov. 8, 2021.
Companies interested in CDL certification for new hires or incumbent workers may be eligible for KCTCS-TRAINS funds, which will offset training costs significantly.
