Lisa Embry

In Obituaries by OC Monitor Staff

HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Lisa Embry, 56, of Horse Branch, entered eternal peace on Sept. 29, 2021. As she left this Earth she was met at the gates of Heaven by her beloved Jerry. No doubt their excitement to be reunited was greater than the unwavering love they have shared for over four decades. Her parents, Ovaleen and Truman Wilson were also among the many who were anxiously awaiting her arrival. They wrapped her in their arms knowing they would never be separated again.

Lisa’s greatest joys were her children, Anthony and Melissa. Lisa was an outstanding Mom. She supported her children’s dreams and goals and was there for them no matter what. Anthony and his wife, Crystal, blessed Lisa with three grandsons, Everett Thomas Jr., and Gabriel Brynnen West and Nolan Homer who she called “Tot.” Melissa’s daughter, Maggie, she affectionally referred to as “Moody Maggie.” The grands kept Lisa on her toes, and she often shared their antics with all her friends and family.

When Lisa wasn’t spending time with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed shopping with her dear friend, Vickie Hayes, or simply talking with Tina Elder. Lisa knew the value of laughter and how simple things make lasting memories.

Lisa’s love of family and for the Lord will live on in the memories of her brother, Michael Wilson (Michelle); seven nephews, and two nieces, four great-nephews, and four great-nieces. The impact that Lisa had on each of their lives as well as those fortunate enough to call her a friend will last eternally.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4, at Leach Chapel General Baptist Church (65 Leach School Road, Horse Branch, KY 42349) with Bro. Connor Raymond officiating. Burial will follow in Embry Family Cemetery in Horse Branch. Friends may visit with Lisa’s family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Leach Chapel General Baptist Church and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the church.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contribution to the Lisa Embry Memorial Fund, c/o William L. Danks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 407, Beaver Dam, KY 42320. Envelopes will be available at the church.
