OWENSBORO, Ky. — One part of the Owensboro Community & Technical College’s mission is preparing students to transfer to universities. Students and alumni who intend to transfer can learn more about their university of interest and connect directly with representatives who can answer questions from 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, Sept. 28-29 on OCTC’s Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road, in the campus mall area.

“We have found transfer fairs to be very successful in the past,” said Katie Ballard, OCTC’s Career and Transfer Coordinator. ” it’s a great way for our students to learn as much as possible about their transfer options from our many four-year partners.”

The colleges and universities slated to participate in the OCTC Transfer Fair Tuesday, Sept. 28 include: Bellarmine University, Campbellsville University, Indiana Wesleyan University, Midway College, Murray State University, Northern Kentucky University, University of Louisville-Main Campus, University of Louisville-ONLINE, University of Kentucky, University of Southern Indiana, WKU-Bowling Green, WKU-Owensboro

Colleges scheduled to attend Wednesday, Sept. 29: Bellevue University, Brescia University Online, Kentucky Wesleyan College, Lindsey Wilson College, Morehead State University, Sullivan University, Sullivan University College of Pharmacy, U of L NSA Cybersecurity Pathway program, University of Louisville BSN-Owensboro program, University of Louisville; Engineering Speed School, University of Evansville.

While all the colleges listed have confirmed attendance; last-minute changes/cancellations are possible. In case of inclement weather the event will be held in ATC 107, masks are required inside buildings on campus.

Statistics show community college transfer students do as well or better than students who started their education at a university. Further, OCTC students can save as much as $32,000 by taking their first two years at a community college. Credits transfer easily and there are many scholarship opportunities available, including 2+2 programs offered by some universities.

The transfer fair is free and open to any and all interested students and alumni.
