Kenergy warns customers of dangerous scam

In Local, News by OC Monitor Staff

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Kenergy is warning its customers of a “scary” scam attempt on one of its members.

Kenergy was alerted by a member about someone claiming to be from Kenergy who knocked on their door recently. The fake Kenergy service technician demanded the member’s daughter come outside. Thankfully, the member’s daughter refused to come outside.

Kenergy service technicians may knock on a member’s door to announce they are on the property to complete a service. However, Kenergy service technicians will never demand a member to come outside. Service technicians will always be in a marked Kenergy vehicle and wearing a Kenergy uniform, or Kenergy attire with a logo, while working.

If you feel uncomfortable or unsure if the person at your house is indeed a Kenergy employee, call 800-844-4832. A Kenergy Member Service Representative can verify that a service technician is working in your area.
