OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community & Technical College’s Dayman Gallery’s first art exhibition of the 2021-22 season is Ebb and Flow, a two-person collaborative exhibition by painter/photographer Betsy Stirratt, and printmaker/photographer Tracy Templeton.

The artists have explored Southern Indiana for the last several years, searching for and documenting little-known places where water is central to the landscape and culture. The beauty and hidden history of these sites in culturally rich, rural areas is revealed in these artworks. Ebb and Flow captures some of the waterways and mineral springs in the region.

Some images address the history of these sites, with objects related to the late 19th/early 20th-century industry of the area mineral springs, while others look at the history of tourism in these locations. Stirratt and Templeton’s creative careers have often focused on historical elements – from archived materials to landscape. A first for the two artists working together, Ebb and Flow combines their interests and expertise to create a unique, collaborative vision of southern Indiana’s rich geography and culture.
