OCTC hosting STEAM Camp for high school students

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Owensboro Community & Technical College is hosting a STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics, Camp for high school students Monday-Tuesday, June 7-8, 2021. OCTC’s STEAM Camp is funded in part by a grant received through the Alcoa Foundation.

The camps will be held at OCTC’s Downtown Campus at 1501 Frederica Street and the Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road. Camp projects include building a weather station, programming a pixel pet, programming a microcontroller for sound, lights and motion, programming a robot and drawing with a variety of unique materials.

There is no cost for the camp. Females and underrepresented minorities are encouraged to apply. Space is limited to 20 students.
