CANEYVILLE, Ky. — Barney N. Goodman, 74, of Caneyville, passed away May 1, 2021. He was born in Hartford, Kentucky, on Sept. 19, 1946, to the late Ranzy and Hazel Hill Goodman.

He was a man of faith and was saved during a revival service that was held by Bro. Billy Andrews. He was a true handyman. Barney was an avid UK basketball fan. He was very patriotic. Barney graduated from Hartford High School in 1964. The heart that Barney had was truly amazing, he always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of and was willing to help anyone at any time. He liked to spend time outside especially with his horse, Star.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Goodman; and stepdaughter, Carla McCauley.

Barney is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sandra Goodman; children, Paul (Georgina) Goodman and Paula (Guy) Frazier; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Jonell Shartzer and Wanda Shown; numerous nieces and nephews; along with numerous in-laws and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, in the Chapel of Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with Pastor Guy Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Rosine Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

All who wish to honor Barney at the visitation and funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
