CROMWELL, Ky. — Justus W. “JW” Edmonds, 76, of Cromwell, passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He was born on Tuesday, March 6, 1945, in Cromwell, to the union of the late Charles Thomas and Mable Daugherty Edmonds.

JW was a United States Army Veteran and he retired from the Ohio County Road Department. He enjoyed fishing, wood working, being on the farm, and his cattle.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Wilma Ligion; one brother, Carlie Edmonds; and one niece, Susan Johnson.

Justus W. “JW” Edmonds is survived by wife of 51 years, Joyce Reynolds Edmonds, of Cromwell; one son, Thomas Edmonds (Angela), of Morgantown, Kentucky; one sister, Shirley Spurlock (Gene Duncan), of McHenry, Kentucky; nephew, Jeff Kurfiss (Jennifer), of Morgantown; five nieces, Priscilla Nichols (Tim), of Bowling Green, Carla Wright, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Terri Lynch, of Beaver Dam, Elizabeth Sue Shultz (Frank), of Hartford, Kentucky, and Sandy Walker (Lanny), of Masonville, Kentucky; and several great-nieces and -nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, April 9, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Phelps officiating. Burial will be held in the Green River Cemetery where the Ohio County Honor Guard AMVETS will conduct military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 8, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until funeral time at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
