McHENRY, Ky. — Cova L. Moore, 89, of McHenry, went to her heavenly home Sunday, April 4, 2021, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford, Kentucky. She was born Feb. 19, 1932, in McHenry to the late James Lonnie and Geneva Dale Daugherty Moore.
Miss Moore retired from General Electric and was a member of McHenry Baptist Church. She was a foster grandparent at Beaver Dam Elementary School for a number of years. Miss Moore enjoyed quilting, singing, and traveling, especially her trip to Cyprus. She loved to cook and always kept her cookie jar full for her nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Moore and Odell Moore; two sisters, Bonnie Smith and Maxine Phelps; an infant sister, Naomi Moore; two nieces, Julia Felty Johnson and Susan Felty Carpenter; and two nephews, Glendal “Cotton” Moore and James William “Buddy” Smith.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one brother, Jackie (Linda) Moore, of Kinkade, Illinois; two sisters, Nova Jean Harrison, of Hartford, and Carolyn (Alvin) Poole, of Utica, Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews that thought of her as a grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, at McHenry Baptist Church in McHenry with Bro. Scott Fleener and Bro. Brent Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Friends may visit with her family from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service Friday at the church. William L. Danks Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
