OWENSBORO, Ky. — Faculty and staff at Owensboro Community and Technical College are gearing up to welcome students to campus for the summer and fall 2021 semesters.
Historically, OCTC’s summer courses are mostly online, but many courses with a lab component are offered in-person. OCTC offers both a Summer Quick Term 3-week option beginning on May 17 and running through June 6, or the 8-week Summer Session which begins on June 9 and ends Aug. 3. In the summer and fall OCTC is offering flexible class schedules that include in-person, online, and hybrid options to accommodate student needs.
“We are excited to welcome everyone back. For those who may still prefer remote learning, we will continue to expand those options as well,” said OCTC President Dr. Scott Williams.
Additionally, OCTC is welcoming back outside organizations that typically meet on campus for summer camps, meetings, training and other events. However, this will remain dependent on state directives for capacity protocols. Masks and proper social distancing will still be required.
“It was a challenging year for everyone, with many additional stressors,” Williams said. “We are beginning to move toward more traditional operations. We will continue to follow the guidance provided by Governor Beshear’s office and proceed with the incremental increase of having more folks on campus, per the guidelines. We look forward to seeing more people in person.”
Registration is open at for summer and fall classes and tours may be arranged for small groups. Fall classes begin Aug. 16.
