LEBANON JUNCTION, Ky. — Willis D. Hicks, 88, of Lebanon Junction, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 8, 1932, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, the son of the late Emmitt and Roxie Royal Hicks.

Willis was a good father who always had a smile and never met a stranger. He loved children and dogs, fishing, and going to the zoo. With his humorous personality, he could always make you laugh and always had a lot of stories to tell. He had always wanted to go home to his childhood homeplace for a visit.

Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tempy Autry Hicks; his second wife, Francis McDole Hicks; four sons, Willis Joe, Glendon Leo, Donnie Franklin, and Joey Lee Hicks; one step-daughter, Bonnie Casto; and one granddaughter, Brandy Bradley Smith.

Left to honor Willis’ memory are three daughters, Brenda Bradley (Terry), Mary Hensley (Pete), and Judy Gibbs (Ronnie); three stepchildren, Debbie Probus, Evelyn Ray, and Danny McDole; one sister, Juanita Dickau; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky, with Bro. John David Morris officiating. Burial will be in McCord Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

All who wish to honor Willis at the visitation and funeral are required to wear a mask while inside the funeral home for the safety of all those in attendance.
