OWENSBORO, Ky. — Brescia University and Kentucky Wesleyan College are partnering with Handshake, a platform used to connect students with jobs, for a virtual career fair. The fair will take place on March 23 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. within the Handshake platform. Students and alumni of the local higher education institutions are welcome to attend.
Participants will be able to schedule one-on-one or group sessions with the over 15 employers attending. A group session is also scheduled with the Owensboro Chamber of Young Professionals.
“We would love as many local employers to participate as possible. Many of our students are excited for the opportunities that are in Owensboro and we want to connect them with local businesses,” stated Morgan Russelburg, Director of Career Services at Brescia University. “Handshake allows my department to streamline the way we post local and national positions to our students. Our students now have access to local and national jobs while our employers have a much better way to connect to and retain local talent. The more employers we can get to engage with us on Handshake via job postings or career fairs the more students consider staying in Owensboro for their future careers.”
“We are pleased to collaborate with Brescia to make it more convenient for employers to connect with students from both institutions at this virtual fair,” said Deborah Jones, Director of Career Development at Kentucky Wesleyan. “Going forward, because both KWC and Brescia are a part of the Handshake network, employers will be able to post positions to both schools quickly and easily. This is an exciting benefit for our students and our community.”
Handshake is free for students and employers.
