MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Voneda B. Johnson, 86 of Morgantown, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at the Grayson Rehab and Nursing Home in Leitchfield, Kentucky. She was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Adelbert J. and Mary Eva Goodall White and wife of the late Victor Johnson.

Voneda was a homemaker, she enjoyed singing, growing flowers and going out to eat. She deeply loved her family with all her heart and soul. But above all was her love for the Lord. She was a faithful servant and member of East Fairview Church. Many times she was heard singing and praising Gods name and praying for her children. The good Lord blessed her richly with children to great-great-grandchildren, a wonderful church family, and a long healthy life. Dementia may have stolen her memories but it couldn’t take away her salvation and love for Jesus Christ and her family. She sang praises unto him up until the end.

Voneda was a homemaker, but she was so much more.

Other than her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one grandson, Lucas Grubb; three brothers, Freeman, Durward, and Forrest White; and two sisters, Beulena and Violet White.

Voneda B. Johnson is survived by two daughters, Mary Sue Embry, of Caneyville, Kentucky, and Anita Ausbrooks (Jason), of Morgantown; one son, Larry Wayne Probus (Doris), of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; three stepchildren, Johnny Probus (April), of McHenry, Kentucky, Betty Jo Herber, of Huntington, Indiana, and Dwayne Probus (Shelia), of Caneyville; one brother, Lyndell White, of Pryor, Oklahoma; one sister, Midge Muizers, of Moses Lake, Washington; five grandchildren, Kathy, Barry, Alicia, Ethan, and Kenlea; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Darren, Dakota, Lucas, and Beau; six great-great-grandchildren, Riley, Reagan, Waylon, Bo, Jack, and Kyra; several step-grandchildren and -great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In light of the current health and safety risk, the Johnson family has requested that all visitation and funeral services be privately held at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Carl Decker Jr. officiating. A private burial will be held in the Warren’s Mill Cemetery.
