OWENSBORO, Ky. — The Grant G. Talbott III Memorial Run, Owensboro Community and Technical College’s 33rd annual road race will be held virtually and participants may choose their own path, and day, to run or walk the 5K distance from November 5-8, 2020 and participants will log their time online. All proceeds go to support OCTC students.

“We missed our initial date due to COVID restriction, and our back up dates, too. Our team wanted to try and host the event to continue to support students and to keep up the tradition of this race” added Mike Rodgers, Chief Resource Development Officer for OCTC.

All preregistered participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Shirts are not guaranteed for late registrants. Entry fee is $30, and $10 for OCTC students. In addition, participants may opt to purchase a finishers medal for an additional $10. The medal features the OCTC Pathfinder mascot and a seasonal turkey with masks as a nod to current health restrictions.

Rodgers commented, “Some of our team members participate in virtual races and they were a great help in organizing and adding some of the fun features, like the medals, race bibs, and we’ve tried to get folks from other states to join in on the fun. It’s a great cause, particularly during this health crisis, we see more students that need help with basic needs.”
