**UPDATE** HARTFORD, Ky. (6/13/20) — Due to the increasing positive cases of COVID-19, the KHSAA Board of control has requested Ohio County Healthcare only conduct fall sports physicals Tuesday, July 14 to reduce the number of people in attendance.

Monday’s sports physicals have been canceled.

HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Healthcare, in partnership with Ohio County Schools, will offer free sports physicals for middle school and high school athletes next week. Physicals will be administered from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14. Athletes should arrive at the Ohio County High School gym in the sports designated time slot.

Schedule Change to previously announced School Sports Physicals:

Upon recommendation of KHSAA Board of Control, only fall sports physicals will be conducted at this time. All time slots for Monday, July 13 have been canceled. The following are the new time slots per sport for Tuesday, July 14:

9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2020

  • 9-10 a.m. Cross Country
  • 9:30-10:30 a.m. Golf
  • 10-11 a.m. Volleyball
  • 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Cheer
  • 12-1 p.m. Dance
  • 12:30-1:30 p.m. Girl’s Soccer
  • 1:30-2:30 p.m. Boy’s Soccer
  • 2:30-4 p.m. Football

To ensure the safety of students and staff, all social distancing measures will be enforced. Masks are mandatory, 6 Foot Distancing must be maintained, and hand sanitizer will be provided.

Additional dates for winter and spring sports will be announced at a later date.

Students will need to complete the first four pages of Kentucky High School Athletic Association sports physical forms prior to arrival. Ohio County Family Care Providers will complete the last two pages. Forms can be downloaded at OCHcares.com or:

As part of OCH’s Safe Care Commitment, staff will be providing outstanding care by focusing on hands, by using hand-sanitizer, space, by staying at least six feet apart and face, by wearing masks.

All athletes will remain in their vehicle until screened by a staff member for temperature and respiratory symptoms. Athletes and guardians will be provided with hand sanitizer before exiting their vehicle and undergo a health check before entering the school.

All students and adults are required to wear a mask while out of the vehicle. If there are symptoms of a respiratory virus or the athlete or guardian isn’t wearing a mask, students will have to re-schedule their appointment. Students and parents will need to remain six feet apart while waiting and additional hand-sanitizer stations will be set-up in the gym.

Nicole Akers, MD, Ohio County Family Care’s newest physician, along with Vanessa Price, APRN and Kara Hayden, APRN will perform the physicals.
