OC Sheriff releases COVID-19 guidelines for courtroom visitors

HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Sheriff Tract Beatty has released guidelines, on his Facebook page, for people coming to the Ohio County Community Center to visit a courtroom.

Beginning Monday, June 1st, all people coming to any courtroom in the Community Center will be subject to the following:

  • Any person experiencing symptoms of COVID 19, including cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain or loss of taste or smell will not be admitted.
  • Any person who has been asked to self-quarantine by any doctor, hospital, or health agency or been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last fourteen days will not be admitted.

     

  • All persons entering the Community Center will be required to wear a face covering, mask, bandanna, etc. at all times.

 

  • CDC guidelines for social distancing will be observed.

 

  • Weapons of any kind, food and/or drink containers, purses, random bags, diaper bags, backpacks, fanny packs and etc are prohibited. Persons entering court will be limited to wallet, keys, cell phone and legal papers only.

     

  • Only persons whose name appears on the Court Docket will be allowed to enter. Observers, including friends, relatives, associates and children will not be allowed to enter the building.

     

  • Persons arriving more than thirty minutes prior to their appointed time on the Court Docket will not be allowed to enter.

     

“We here at the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office realize this is a new and possibly difficult time for the citizens of Ohio County,” Beatty said. “In order to assist the public, Court Security Officers will be available at the front door of the Community Center and throughout the third floor to assist visitors with any questions or potential problems.”
