JETSON, Ky. — Stephen Dean Johnson, 39 of Jetson, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, after a long battle with ALS at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Stephen was born Jan. 25, 1981, in Bowling Green, to Talmie and Ann Phelps Johnson.

He was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church and attended Jetson Community Church. Stephen loved raising gamefowl and coon hunting.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Charlie Johnson; one niece, Beth Flener; one nephew, Josh Johnson; grandparents, Cleveland and Myrtle Phelps, and Oddley and Renie Johnson; and one uncle, James Phelps.

Stephen Dean Johnson is survived by his wife of eight years, Abby Whittinghill Johnson; of Jetson; parents, Talmie and Ann Johnson, of Jetson; two daughters, Sabrina Willis (Lester), of Piedmont, Missouri, and Michaela McLean (Josh), of Jetson; four sons, Stephen Johnson, of Michigan, Justin Oliver, of Morgantown, Kentucky, Lincoln Forsythe, of Morgantown, and Chris Costello (Amanda), of Bowling Green; four sisters, Brenda Carwile, of Cromwell, Kentucky, and Betty Puckett (Raymond), of Clarkson, Kentucky, Kathy Renfrow, of Glasgow, Kentucky, Kay Samples, of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; four brothers, Darrell Johnson (Michelle) of Jetson, Jeff, James, and John Johnson, all of Jetson; three grandchildren, Jonah and Madelyn McLean, and Oliver Willis; special niece, Amanda “Mouse” Sorrels, of Cromwell; special nephews, Farron Flener, of Short Creek, Kentucky, and Charles “Frog” Carwile, of Bowling Green; and several other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, May 20, at 1 p.m. with Bro. David Baston and Bro. Gene Poole officiating. Burial will be in the Carl Whittinghill Family Cemetery in Jetson, KY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 20, from 10 a.m. until funeral time at 1 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
