MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet crews will continue the stabilization efforts that began on Monday, May 4 in Ohio County. Crews will be working on KY 1164/Cedar Grove Road at mile point 4.6. Lane closures will be used from 7 a.m.to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday The new project completion date is Wednesday, May 20, weather permitting.
The closures are necessary for the crews to install a soil nail wall to prevent the ground from sliding and damaging the highway. Soil nail wall construction is a technique used to bring soil stability in areas where landslides might be an issue.
