Johnston declares State of Emergency due to COVID-19 threat

HARTFORD, Ky. — Ohio County Judge-Executive David Johnston issued an executive order this morning declaring a state of emergency for Ohio County due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johnston issued a statement along with the State of Emergency declaration.

“We are taking precautions in response to the COVID-19 threat. Elected officials and Emergency Management have been in contact with Federal and state agencies regarding actions that should be taken.

We will continue to follow CDC guidelines along with the presidents and Governor’s recommendations and orders to help stop the spread of the virus.

All Ohio County Government offices are closed to in-person services until further notice.

The State of Emergency will be in effect until Johnston issues another executive order terminating the order.
