ROCKPORT, Indiana — Mary “Boots” Stone, 88, of Rockport, Indiana, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Millers Mary Manor in Rockport with her family by her side. She was born May 27, 1931, to the late William Franklin Thomas and Norma Hill Thomas.
Mrs. Stone was a homemaker and the “greatest mom ever.”
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Earnest Stone; son, Ernest Everly Stone; and several siblings.
Survivors include two sons, Barry Dean Stone, of Central City, Kentucky, and Larry Glen (Judele) Stone, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; daughter, Deloris Jean (Eddie Wayne) Gabbard, of Rockport, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Bryan (Becky) Stone, Brianne Alene (Joseph) Driver, Brandon Kyle (Jennifer) Stone, Jackson Blake Stone, Robert Tyler Stone, April Michelle Moseley, Jennifer Michelle Stone and Rhonda Renee (Jerry) Goodwin; and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro. Lynn Rossie Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Stone’s family from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.
