BAIZETOWN, Ky. — Elsie Jewell Daugherty, 87, of Baizetown, went to her heavenly home on Dec. 25, 2019, with her family by her side at Fordsville Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born May 28, 1932, to the late Charles Edward Allen and Vonnie Renfrow Allen in the Renfrow Community of Ohio County, Kentucky.
Mrs. Daugherty was a homemaker and member of New Zion Baptist Church in Baizetown.
Aside from her parents Mrs. Daugherty was preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Daugherty, and four sisters, Iva Royal, Nena, Reva, and Judith Allen.
She leaves behind to treasure her memory, two daughters, Mary (Daniel) Batts, of Monticello, Kentucky, and Sharon (Paul) Coy, of Baizetown; two grandchildren, Paul Martin (Kandi) Coy and Mary Carol (Chris) Daugherty; six great-grandchildren, Hayden, Dean, Kaden, Bentley, Gunner, and Corbin; two brothers, Charles Allen, of Hartford, Kentucky, and Don Allen of Owensboro, Kentucky; and one sister, Barbara Oller, of Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Jeff Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Renfrow Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mrs. Daugherty’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
