HARTFORD, Ky. — Mildred Fostine Duncan, 90, of Hartford, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1929, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Volentine and Iva Francis Embry Lacefield.
Fostine was a devoted member of Lone Star General Baptist Church where she has served as the clerk since 1964.
Aside from her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hardin Duncan; her daughter, Mildred Elaine (Gary Douglas) Wright; siblings, Dewey Hillard Lacefield, Chelcie Byers Lacefield, Olous Grant Lacefield, Marjorie Kathleen Sutherlin, Lois Geraldine Render, Lindon O’nell Lacefield, Peggy Joan Midkiff; and infant brother, Columbus Chalmer Lacefield.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three grandchildren, Shannon Elaine (Troy) Frady, Steven Gary (Jenni) Wright, and Samuel Douglas (Courtney) Wright; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Shane, Kinley, Kaden, Hannah, and Cooper; and four siblings, Leonard Udele Lacefield, Thelma Maxine Duncan, Flossie Dorene Austin, and Joyce Jean (Jewel) White. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at Lone Star General Baptist Church in Centertown with Rev. Jerry Moore and Rev. Tim Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery in Centertown, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Mrs. Duncan’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the church.
