MORGANTOWN, Ky. — Janie Ann Phelps, of Morgantown, was born July 3, 1955, in the Oak Ridge community of Butler County, Kentucky, to the union of the late Squire Bamis and Goldie Beasley Dockery. Janie was welcomed into the arms of her loving Lord and Savior Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Janie was a member of Zion Harmony General Baptist Church, a homemaker, and enjoyed attending and working for the church and spending time with family and friends.
Other than her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Nellie Mae Dockery, and her Brother Jimmy Dockery.
Janie leaves behind her loving husband of 32 years, Gary Phelps, of Morgantown; two sons, Jason Keith Dockery (Ashlee), of Morgantown, and David Phelps, of Morgantown; six cherished grandchildren, Jason, Michael, Sierra, Faith, and Trinity Dockery, and Bronson Vaughn, all of Morgantown; three sisters, Kay Filback, of Morgantown, Ky, Allene Lamar (Ellis) of Beaver Dam, Ky And Mary Bratcher, of Morgantown, Ky, two brothers; Estil Dockery (Faye) of Beaver Dam, Ky and Pete Dockery (LaDonna) of Morgantown, Ky and Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 1:00PM at Zion Harmony General Baptist Church with Bro. Calvin Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2019 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Zion Harmony General Baptist Church and Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 10:00AM until Funeral time at 1:00PM at Zion Harmony General Baptist Church. please share any photos, memories, condolences, or light candle in memory of Janie at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com.
