George Clapp
HARTFORD, Ky. — The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help in finding women who may have been tattooed by a Hartford man under indictment for multiple counts of rape and other sex charges.
According to Sheriff Tracy Beatty, Oct. 7, 2019, George Clapp, of Hartford, was arrested on multiple outstanding felony warrants when deputies with the Sheriff’s Office, officers of the Hartford Police Department and troopers of the Kentucky State Police converged on a home in the Hartford area. Clapp obtained several new felony charges as a result of the arrest.
A search warrant was obtained for electronic devices in Clapp’s possession. A new investigation was launched by detectives when it was determined Clapp was in possession of child pornography. Detectives discovered multiple images and videos of minors under 12 years of age, as well as non-consenting adults, on Clapp’s electronic devices.
Over the course of the investigation, it appears Clapp has been giving tattoos to multiple people around the tri-state.
The OCSO is reaching out to ask for the public’s assistance in locating any woman who may have received a tattoo from Clapp. The OCSO is requesting any woman who received a tattoo from Clapp to contact Detective Katie Pate at 270-298-4411.
Clapp was indicted by the Ohio County Grand Jury on the following charges:
- Five counts of first degree rape, victim under 12 years of age
- Five counts of first degree rape
- 10 counts of promoting a minor under 16 years of age in a sex performance
- 10 counts of possessing/viewing matter portraying a sex performance by a minor
- Five counts of video voyeurism
- 10 counts of sexual abuse, victim under 12 years of age
- 10 counts of use of a minor in a sex performance
- First degree persistent felony offender
Yesterday, Clapp was served with his indictment warrant and is currently lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
