OWENSBORO, Ky. — Linda Sue Smith, 72, passed away Friday June 14, 2019 at the Heartford House in Owensboro. She was born July 5, 1946, in Hartford, Kentucky, to the late Edwin and Hazel Fuqua Smith.
Linda was a member of East Hartford Baptist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, VBS, and the cooking ministry. She was a longtime fan of the OC Lady Eagles Soccer team and traveled many places to watch them play.
Linda worked over twenty years at Hartford Bank & Trust, before retiring from their family businesses, Charlie’s Diesel Service and Linda’s Caribbean Tan.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Charlie Smith, her loving husband of 29 years. Linda enjoyed being a wife, mom and mamaw. She also leaves behind two children, Teresa (Marty) Renfrow and Greg (Stacy) Boyd. Linda was blessed with six grandchildren, Wayne (Kendra) Renfrow, Kori (Michael) Bennett, Raquel (Jacob) White, Kailei Boyd, Gracey Boyd, and Andrea Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Jakoby White, Ramsey White, Archie White, Lane Bennett, Maci Bennett, and Jayden Smith. Linda was also blessed with three stepchildren, Connie Smith, Carol (John) Messamore, and Nathan (Dianna) Smith, along with their children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25 at East Hartford Baptist Church with Bro. Rodney Albin officiating. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. until the time of service. Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of arrangements.
