CENTERTOWN, Ky. — Jr. Barrett, 72, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019, at the Ohio County Hospital. He was born March 3, 1947, in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Claude Worth and Ruby Williams Barrett.
Jr. was a devoted father and grandfather and loved the Lord. He worked at Peabody Center Prep, was a member of Centertown United Methodist Church, Centertown Masonic Lodge # 714, and a member of UMWA Local 1919.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty, and sisters, Loretta Bartlett, Emily Barrett, Corrine Barrett, Wanda Phelps, and Evelyn Woolen.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Coots (Justin); sons, Robbie Creek, Terry Creek (Michelle) and Shane Barrett (Jill); sisters, Edna Garner (Charles), Judy Barrett, Connie McConnell (Phillip), and Patty McGuffin (Donald); grandchildren, Aaron Creek, Britney Chilton, Hannah Hunt, Dru Barrett, Gavin Barrett, and Jaxon Barrett; great-grandchildren, Harmony, Addy, and Jessa Barrett, Halle Lamb, Kennedy Creek, and Liam Creek; two stepgrandchildren, Kaleb Humphrey and Briley Howard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, with Pastor Peggy Smith and Pastor Mike Atkins officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Creek Cemetery near Centertown.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Masonic Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
