FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Tami Suzanne Matthews, 60, of Fordsville, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 8, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born Dec. 26, 1958, to the late Charles and Dorthy Lard in Farmington, New Mexico.

She was a boilermaker, a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Pattiville, Kentucky.

Tami was very active in the school while her children were in grade school by being a Girl Scout leader and a Just Say No teacher. There was never a dull moment when with her, and you had better be ready for anything. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Tami was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Matthews; granddaughter, Alanna Matthews; and brothers, Tommy and Mike Lard.

She is survived by her husband, David Matthews, of Fordsville; son, Andy (Gena) Matthews, of Fordsville; daughter, Dorthy (Tim) Boyle, of Philpot; grandchildren, Ella, Nolan, Charles, TJ, and David; sisters, Becki Lard and Debbie Harms, both of Albequerque, New Mexico; and brother, Rick Lard, of Farmington.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Geary Funeral Home, Fordsville and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church.
