EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Dorothy Ellen Dever, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Newburgh Healthcare. She was born in Hartford, Kentucky, Oct. 1, 1922, to the late Frank Farmer and Josie Coghill Farmer.
Dorothy retired from Kmart Corporation after 36 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Evansville as well as a former member if Humble Valley Baptist Church in Hartford, Kentucky. She enjoyed traveling and cooking.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Dever.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty (Don Sr.) Sauter, of Evansville; her grandchildren, Donald (Joan) Sauter, Bryan D Sauter, Sheryl (Kevin) Parma; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at Miller Schapmire Funeral Home, with Sister Mary Doepel officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
