OWENSBORO, Ky. — June “Granny” Morris, 78, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at her home. She was born June 29, 1940, in Warren County, Kentucky, to the late Argyle Francis and Susie J. Murphy.

June was a homemaker, a pastor’s wife, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was a former member of Deanfield Baptist Church in Ohio County, Kentucky, and was currently a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church.

June was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bro. Billy Morris, Sept. 23, 2014; two sisters, Regenia Anderson and Sue Frances Green; three brothers, James “Buster” Murphy, Wilbur “Murf” Murphy, and John Murphy and his wife, Minnie; and a granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Morris.

Surviving are three sons, Brent Morris and wife, Stacy, of Owensboro, Tony Morris and wife, Sharon, of Fordsville, Kentucky, and Darren Morris, of Owensboro; two daughters, Cathy Stewart, of Owensboro, and Karen Gish and husband, David, of Henderson; 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Chloie Davis and husband, Bill, of Owensboro; a sister-in-law, Mary Murphy, of Owensboro; a brother-in-law, James Anderson, of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service for June Morris will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Brother Tim Russ officiating . Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
