OWENSBORO, Ky. — Jean T. Norris, 86, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born in Ohio County, Kentucky, Oct. 22, 1932, to the late Henry L. Tanner and Jessie L. Patton Tanner.
She retired from GE after working more than 40 years. She was a member of Third Baptist Church and was involved with the Sunday School. She enjoyed creative writing, reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and drawing.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Tanner.
She is survived by her spouse, Charles “Boots” Norris; her children, Kathy Kuegel and Scott (Tami) Norris, of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Madaline (William E.) Miller, of Owensboro; and her sister-in-law, Billie Tanner.
Services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and again from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Third Baptist Church; 527 Allen Street; Owensboro, Kentucky 42303. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
